I rode my bike from Ardnamurchan to Portree on Skye via the A830 and Mallaig ferry. The chain on my motorcycle starting playing up on the way to Skye, needing to be adjusted on the side of the road because I could hear it slapping. It started slapping again as soon as I got to Skye and after adjusting it again and having the same problem I knew it was time for a new one (not surprising, I had no idea how to look after it). I ordered a new chain and sprocket set online with next day delivery and replaced my chain and sprockets.
I didn't get to see much of Skye. On the outward journey to N. Ireland I roughed it in some woods at the side of the road (motorcycle protective equipment also makes great midge protective equipment), then continued my journey the next morning. Aside from starting in fog I had lovely weather as I rode back down through Glen Coe bright and early beating the traffic.
